Final Task: Nightmare Turned Reality

This project was very stressful due to me having to work by myself because of COVD. Even though, it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it, I'm still proud of my hard work. I couldn't have done it without the help of my family members. I wanted to take the time to spotlight a rapid issue; sex trafficking. I hope that my film is a wake up call for all to stay safe. Sex trafficking happens everywhere and can happen to anyone. Hope you enjoy!

My thermometer finally arrived!!! I instructed my sister to come over so I could film the first scene. When she arrived I told her to stay in her car and wait for me to come out. I came out with the covid questionnaire and a pen. I had my mask on and handed her the paper. I waited for her fill out the form completely. I told her to wait in the car while I went back in the house to evaluate her answers. She passed the questionnaire with flying colors. I then proceeded to take her temperature with the thermometer I brought off of amazon. Her temperature was 97.8 which is normal. Thankfully she passed all the covid precautions and was finally able to start filming.  I started my filming process with my smallest scene. This scene includes me an my sister in our living room. This is a over the shoulder shot scene with my mother behind the camera. It start out focus on the tv that displays a documentary coming to an end. We then engage in dialogue centered around sex trafficking movie we ju

My thermometer has come in yet which means my filming process can't start. I went to physically scout out my backyard. I did this because I plan in having a scene shoot there. I made a list of all the things I needed my dad to do so  I can shoot the scene. I realized that I desperately needed my dad to pressure clean the dirty fence. I also noticed that he needed to cut the grass because it was unreasonably high. I realized I needed him to also pluck the weeds so the landscape could look pretty. I also did this to plan out the size of my filming space. I was able to mentally walk myself through my wanted set. In doing this exercise I noticed that I would need a tall camera stand. I say this because I want this scene to bee shoot at a higher angle than my height. I went and ordered a 24 inch camera pole off of Amazon. I did this order through Amazon prime in hopes that I wouldn't experience the issues I am with receiving my thermometer.  The pole would provide be higher camera

These last couple of days have been stressful for me because of shipping errors. I got an email yesterday that explained to me that I would not receive my thermometer the date I was supposed to. The thermometer that I ordered off of Amazon, delivery date has been pushed back due to a Wearhouse mix up. This effects my filming process in a major way because without it I cannot do anything until I get it. Instead, I networked with a couple of classmates and we shared our different thoughts and ideas for our films. We also shared helpful advice with each other in hopes of helping each other out. For an example, I got advice on different editing programs that I had never heard of before. One of them being Capture one. This professional editing software has multiple high tech accessories that would put my project over the top. One accessory in particular is the "dehaze" effect. This feature allows editors to adjust the focus and darkness in a shot all at once. There's also a c

Over these last few days, I've been physically scouting out my different film locations. On Saturday, I went to the Miramar reginal park to see exactly what I need. While driving in, I found out that the playground side of the park closes at 7:30 p.m. Which allowed me to make a mental note that any scenes that need a playground would have to be filmed before that time. I also found out that the restrooms are closed due to Covid at the park. This means that I had to change my wardrobe, hair and makeup plans. I initially planned on having my actors arrive to the park then dress them appropriately in the bathrooms. I was then going to do their hair and make up in the car or under the pavilion. I will now instruct my actors to arrive at my house and we will to wardrobe there. Due to the new plan, I also had to implement new guidelines as far as health restrictions. Upon my actors arrival at my house, I will give them a questionnaire that they must fill out to get in. The questionnaire

The filming process didn't start today because of unexpected weather. It's been raining and lighting pretty bad. The weather broadcasters are advising that people stay off roads as much as possible. Due to the weather, all of the work I did was from home out of the way of the bad rain storm. I started with using Google Maps and drawing up more possible locations for my scenes. One in particular was the Miramar regional park, that has track and a forest. Those two elements were important to my film so I was very happy to find a place that has both. I also started ordering certain supplies that I would needs for certain scenes in my film. I ordered zip ties for one of my scenes off of amazon. I ordered a location tracker on target and a camera mount from Walmart. I had a sit down talk with my family so we could get on the same page. A couple of my original plans had to be changed due to conflicting schedules with certain family members. For example, I planned on shooting my open
