AICE Media Studies

 On November 11th, I filmed my commercial in its entirety. I planed on filming my commercial on Saturday; however,  my actor wasn't available so we rescheduled. As the director, I provided the camera and props. My actor used their own wardrobe in each scene. The actor and I already previously owned the Contigo bottle; therefore, we used our own. The work scene worked perfectly as it was in a controlled environment. In the work scene, my actor wore clothes representative of those worn in work environments. The exercise scene proved to be the most difficult due to the uncontrolled extraneous variable's of the environment. The wind caused unwanted noise along with the sun troubling the cameras exposure. The actor worn self owned clothes representative of physical activity. This scene took about 20 minutes in total to shoot. The home scene was the easiest in my opinion.  First Scene: During the first scene, I will display the Contigo bottle. I will then explain the uses and its non-leak technology. Lastly, I will explain how easily portable it is.   Second Scene: During the second scene, I will shoot the Contigo bottle in the work space. This will show it's great for work and is non-leak proof. Third Scene: During the third scene, I will display the Contigo bottle and it's uses during physical activity. It will show how it's temperature safe technology works. Fourth Scene: During the fourth scene, I will display the Contigo  bottle and how it is an perfect in house container. Fifth Scene: During the fifth scene, I will show the Contigo bottle being washed. This will display its eco friendly and renewable. Sixth Scene: During the sixth scene, I will display how the Contigo bottles are great for families and can make an even happier home.

  Pros: Since I decided to do my commercial on Contigo bottles, the main prop will be the bottle itself. Other props will include and backpack, workspace, and exercise equipment. Costume: The first scene will be work attire such as button up shirt, slacks, and dress shoes. The second scene will be exercise attire including gym shorts, workout tee and tennis shoes. The last scene will be home attire such as pajamas and slippers.  I am doing my commercial on Contigo Travel Mugs. In these commercials, the audience normally sees people on the go with their bottles, making traveling with liquids easier.  They wear attire that is representative of different activities and parts of everyday life.    Props include the Contigo appliances, backpacks, and other on the go necessities.   Their normally occupied with daily activities; however, given the bottles portability they always have access to desired liquids.   The pace is upbeat to show consumers that the Contigo bottle can keep up with life’s thrilling tasks.   1.      Conventions and codes in Contigo commercials include the logo, added with the design of that particular bottle.   2.      In the commercial the props are always angled to show the Contigo logo to let the audience know it’s a Contigo commercial before sta...

Hi, my name is Jalyn Flournoy, and I am a student in AICE Media Studies. I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School in the Cambridge program. When choosing classes this year, I was adamant on taking media studies for numerous reasons. Firstly, I heard from upperclassmen who recommended it for its insight in film making which inspired new hobbies for them. I also am exploring different career fields to see where my future should go. Lastly, I heard how fun yet insightful this course is. So far, this year I have thoroughly enjoyed media studies. Media Studies is the only class that I am taking where my creativity can be displayed in my work. Media studies has also given me knowledgeable information that I would not have if not for this course.
